Family day out Expression of Interest QLD

Type 1 diabetes, Children and teens
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST NOW OPEN!
You're invited to join us for a day of fun at Apex Camps Sunshine Coast in Twin Waters for children aged between 5-8 years living with type 1 diabetes and their parent/carer.
Designed to bring children living with type 1 diabetes together, our Family day out aims to increase confidence in children and their parent/carer, and promote opportunities to learn and practice diabetes self-management skills together.
A variety of outdoor adventure activities will be led by the recreation staff at Apex Camps, along with parent/carer session facilitated by an experienced type 1 diabetes counsellor. Each group will be assigned a Diabetes Educator who will encourage conversations around diabetes management throughout the day.
Please note: Due to the nature of the educational components, this event is only suitable for children with type 1 diabetes and their parent/carer.

Cost: Free for children registered with the NDSS and their parent/carer
Included: Full day program including activities, lunch and snacks
