EXPRESSION OF INTEREST NOW OPEN!
You’re invited to join us for a day full of fun and educational activities for children aged between 9 and 14 years living with type 1 diabetes at Camp Clayton, Ulverstone.
Designed to bring children with type 1 diabetes together, our youth day out aims to increase confidence and give children the opportunity to share knowledge and practice diabetes self-management skills in a safe and supportive environment, without the presence of parents/ carers.
Camp Clayton offers a range of fun indoor and outdoor adventures, encouraging children to work together as they tackle the team challenges. The day will be hosted by Diabetes Australia and Camp Clayton staff – a perfect way for children to meet new friends, decrease feelings of isolation and manage their diabetes in a safe environment with like-minded people.

Date: Saturday 10 May 2025
Time: 9:30AM- 3:30PM
Where: Camp Clayton, 41 Clayton Road, Ulverstone
Cost: Free for eligible children registered with the NDSS
Included: Supervised activities, morning and afternoon tea, and lunch
Expression of interest process: Places are limited and are allocated through a selection process. Applications close on Monday 21 April 2025.

4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Tuesday 22 April and further details will be provided via email.
Please note: Due to the nature of the educational components, this event is only suitable for children with type 1 diabetes (no parents/carers). This event will be fully supervised by trained diabetes health professionals.
Camp Clayton offers overnight accommodation for families who wish to take advantage of this and we have reserved a limited number of rooms for this event. Accommodation is at your own expense and by private arrangement directly with Camp Clayton. Please contact Camp Clayton on 03 6425 1893 for more information.
