The Diabetes Yarning program aims to encourage more yarning about diabetes.
The program was developed by Diabetes Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit in conjunction with Aid Worthy and narrated by Roxanne McDonald and Lafe Charlton.  
 
This e-learning program is for people living with diabetes or those who support people living with diabetes and it consists of eight modules. The program provides a foundational understanding about diabetes and aims to help form positive and powerful engagement with your health care team to manage, prevent, or help care for family living with diabetes.  
 
The Diabetes Yarning online program includes: 
  • Health before time and changes  
  • How our body works  
  • Type 2 diabetes, type 1 diabetes and gestational diabetes   
  • Common symptoms of diabetes 
  • Diabetes related complications  
  • Reducing risks of diabetes complications  
  • Managing diabetes  
  • Social and emotional health and wellbeing  
 
The program can be completed in your own time and may be accessed by clicking the link below with a computer, smartphone or tablet with internet access.
