‘Monitoring, meals & mindfulness’ seminar aims to provide information and support for people living with diabetes in the country.

Whether you are newly diagnosed with diabetes or have had years of experience managing the condition, sometimes it helps to get back to the basics. Presented by Diabetes SA’s health professionals.

Understanding glucose monitoring

Glucose monitoring is an important aspect of diabetes management; however, it can mean different things for different people. If you're taking the time to monitor, we want it to be meaningful so in this session our Diabetes Educator will cover why monitoring might be recommended for you, when to monitor, what the numbers mean and different ways to monitor.

Making healthy eating simple and delicious

Healthy eating is a key component of achieving and maintaining good health and wellbeing, but it doesn’t have to be boring, bland or expensive. In this session our Dietitian will provide an introduction to meal planning and recipe modification including strategies to make it simple and delicious whether you are planning for one, two or a family.

Ease the anxiety

Keeping a healthy mind is just as important as other aspects of our health. Living with diabetes can take a toll on your emotional wellbeing. In this session our Diabetes Educator will cover the possible impact of diabetes on our emotional health, strategies for relaxation and mindfulness, and where to access further support whether it be professional, personal or peer support.
